There was once an elite group of people. They lived far, far down below, hidden within the earth’s crust. They were unlike humanity up above, they were better in all their ways, but in their higher knowledge they were more humble than any other people. They knew nothing of Outsiders, and the Outsiders knew nothing of them. They were the Taro Race, the first people, and according to my father they must die. I wish I could tell you stories of them. Of their amazing accomplishments in health, science, and powers of the mind. I sincerely wish I could, but they are gone now. And all their knowledge, culture, and their grand traditions are gone, gone with these amazing people. Killed by my father, the Scourge.
